Maloney's Eye Farm is a proudly South African farming enterprise situated in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind near Magaliesburg. We specialize in the production, distribution and sales of best in class cherry genetics in Southern Africa, supplying local and international markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
About Us
Maloney's Eye Cherry Farm is managed and operated by a team of highly skilled individuals in the agricultural and business sector. Our aim is to produce the first and best graded hydrocooled and airfreighted export cherries of the season. From orchard to cold chain, every step is handled with precision to ensure our cherries arrive firm, sweet and ready for the world's most discerning markets.

Step 1
Our Unique Climate & Soil
Maloney's Eye Farm's microclimate in the Cradle of Humankind provides the ideal conditions for growing low-chill cherries. The combination of altitude, water source and soil type creates a terroir that rivals the best cherry regions in the world.
Step 2
Orchard Establishment
Our high-density cherry orchards are carefully planned and established using the best available cherry genetics from Cherry Genetics Resources (Pty) Ltd. Trellis systems and rootstock selection are critical to the long-term productivity of each block.
Step 3
Orchard Management
Throughout the season, our team monitors every aspect of tree health from nutrition and irrigation to pest and disease control. Guided by leading horticulturists and soil scientists, we ensure every tree produces fruit of the highest possible quality.
Step 4
Harvest
Timing the harvest is critical. Our cherries are picked at peak ripeness and immediately sorted and graded to ensure only top-quality fruit enters the export chain. Hand-picking ensures minimal damage and maximum shelf life.
Step 5
Cold Chain & Export
Post-harvest, cherries are hydrocooled immediately to lock in freshness, then packed and airfreighted to markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Our cold chain is precise and efficient, ensuring cherries arrive firm and flavourful.

Behind every cherry we grow is a team of dedicated, skilled and passionate individuals who bring expertise, heart and purpose to everything they do. From the boardroom to the orchard floor, our people are the soul of Maloney's Eye Cherry Farm.
Andre de Kock
Managing Director
André is a Chartered Accountant (SA), with a finance career spanning over three decades. He served as Chief Financial Officer of KJA Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd from 2013 to 2023and played a key role in shaping the growth and expansion of the company and its cherry farming operations.
André leads the strategic direction of the business, implementing Board directives and ensuring long-term sustainability, profitability and operational excellence.
Marno Naudé
General Manager
Marno manages the entire cherry farming operations at the Maloney’s Eye Cherry Farm, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability across every stage of the production, harvesting and related logistics process.
Education: BSc in Zoology and Geography, a BSc in Botany and Geography, and a BSc (Hons) in Aquatic Ecosystem Health from North-West University (Potchefstroom)
Ché-Slovo Jood
Farm Manager
Ché oversees the day-to-day operations of the Maloney’s Eye Cherry Farm, which includes the effective execution of productions tasks, compliance with industry standards, staff training and management and maintenance of farm infrastructure and equipment.
Education: Bachelor of Agriculture (Stellenbosch University) – Agronomy & Extension
Nakietha Jood
Office administrator
Nakietha is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office, with a primary focus on finance, human resource management and regulatory compliance.

Supervisors (10):
Our current team of ten Supervisors plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our farm. They oversee farm workers in the execution of their production tasks, and maintain high production and quality standards while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
As the crucial link between farm workers and management, they facilitate communication and coordination, contributing to an efficient and well-structured work environment. Our team includes one female supervisor, and the majority of the team are youth (35 years and younger).
